Gallery visits, artist workshops and residential fieldwork also form an important part of a rich and rewarding curriculum.
- Explore the work of a wide range of artists and designers.
- Develop ‘transferable’ life skills including your ability to observe, to solve creative problems, to present your ideas, and to manage creative projects.
- Have opportunities to take part in residential fieldwork and gallery visits. You will also have the opportunity to respond to live briefs and take part in community-based projects.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Grade 5 or above GCSE Art, Photography, Textiles, or an alternative arts-based option. If you were unable to study Art at GCSE you will be considered following a discussion with the Subject Leader.

The course provides an excellent foundation for a career or further study in many creative industries. Future pathways might include Architecture, Web Design, Illustration, Textiles/Fashion Design, Animation or Filmmaking. The majority of successful Art students continue to an Art, Design or Lens based Degree or Foundation course.
