BTEC Performing Arts

BTEC Performing Arts is a double award that gives you the training needed for working in the Performing Arts Industry. This vocational course is underpinned with current industry practice and is a way to prepare robustly for further training in the Arts. This is a highly practical course which also gives you a strong university standard grounding in the theory behind the next level of study and an opportunity to work with industry professionals. We teach in professional standard facilities with a 470 seat theatre, dance studio and a range of drama studios.

Content 

You will cover eight units in all three disciplines allowing you to develop skills as a triple theatre performer. Units in Dance, Singing and Acting are covered focusing on the professional that the industry is currently looking for and we aim to tailor your training to suit current professional practice.

Minimum Entry Requirements 

GCSE Drama and GCSE Dance Grade 5 or equivalent experience or a Performing Arts Level 2 qualification at Merit or Distinction. Plus GCSE English Grade 5.

Opportunities

Professional training in Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre at the leading institutions. University courses in Performing Arts or production. Other university courses where communication and presentation skills are encouraged. Careers in Performing (actor, dancer, Musical Theatre).
