Students will be targeted in terms of their KS4 attainment in Maths and English. There are 19 students in Year’s 12 and 13 who did not have English or Maths at a level 4 by the age of 16.
St Peter’s utilisation of catch up funding for KS5 students will be based on student individual academic needs. An audit will be carried out with the appropriate student’s teachers to discover where needs are greatest in terms of ‘gaps in knowledge and skills’ which have been negatively impacted by the pandemic.
Once students have been accurately targeted, tutoring will take place in small groups, focussed on subject specific needs. Where appropriate, Literacy support will be offered if a student is struggling to access any work or meet demands of specific courses.
Tutoring for students will be in the form of local external providers who will be selected and vetted by the school. Students will work in small groups (max.3) to ensure high quality and personalisation.
